该媒体透露，基米希的确和皇马在此前有过接触，但皇马很快对其失去了兴趣。因为他的年龄偏大并且薪资太高，皇马并不渴求引进中场指挥官类型的球员，而只是想要引进年轻中场，因此不打算为这样角色定位的补强投入太多资金。
根据此前消息，30岁的基米希在和拜仁续约后的年薪基本维持不变，高达2000万欧元。
